C.Scope Metal Pipe Sonde (512 HZ / 640 HZ)

To address the problems of detecting the position of a blockage or other relevant feature within a metal pipe, the C.Scope Metal Pipe Sonde is specially designed with a low frequency signal output that is capable of being transmitted through the metal pipe walls to the surface.

This makes it ideal for finding the position of blockages in metal pipes or for use with a camera and is powerful enough to be detectable at up to 5 metres depth with a C.Scope Precision Pipe and Cable Locator (dependant on pipe material and wall thickness).

Duct Sonde 33KHz

The Duct Sonde 33KHz from C.SCOPE is a transmitter used to trace the direction of small and congested ducts or conduits.

The C.Scope 33KHz Duct Sonde is a small battery powered transmitter which can be screwed onto the end of a duct rod and inserted and fed into a a duct or conduit. The direction of the duct or conduit can then be traced by a C.Scope locator set to Generator/ Transmitter Mode. The location of a blockage can be identified using this system with enormous cost saving potential.

Often the standard sized Sonde is too large to pass between cables when tracing electrical, telecommunication or cable conduits or ducts. The solution is the C.Scope 33kHz Duct Sonde. The small diameter Duct Sonde, developed in conjunction with British Telecom, can be fed easily inside ducting without snagging.

OVERWIEV

  • 33kHz transmit signal allowing detection and tracing by a Cable Avoidance Tool.

Plastic Pipe Tracers

The unique C.Scope Plastic Pipe Tracers are designed specifically to allow SMALL diameter, non-metallic pipes to be traced.

C.Scope Plastic Pipe Tracers are the smallest diameter product on the market and can be successfully inserted into pipes when nothing else fits. Their unique construction gives unparalleled reliability and yet allows both line tracing AND the all important end tracing using the remarkable Sonde technology housed at the very tip of the Tracers.

Utilities and utility contractors have, for years, used Sondes to follow non-metallic main service pipes underground and to record their route or locate the position of blockages within those pipes. However, with pipes less than 2”or 50mm in diameter, standard sized Sondes are simply too large to fit into the pipe or to negotiate the tighter bends often found on these pipes runs.

Developed as a result of requests from the British gas industry, in need of a solution to the problem of tracing their small diameter non-metallic pipes, C.Scope designed the world’s smallest Sonde that is actually moulded into the tip of 6mm diameter plastic pipe tubing. Its uniform diameter allows easy use with any proprietary ‘live insertion’ gland and the flexibility of the plastic tubing and the Sonde itself make it ideally suited to successfully negotiating the tightest swept bends or even 90 degree elbows often encountered on the smaller pipes.

Stored on a compact reel, weighing less than 2kg, the C.Scope 20 metre and 50 metre Plastic Pipe Tracers are the ideal solution for small diameter non-metallic pipe tracing and can be used with any Pipe and Cable Locator and Signal Generator operating at 33kHz. Both the line of the pipe and the end point can be quickly and accurately identified at depths up to 4 metres.

Comes in 20 metre or 50 metre lengths.

OVERVIEW

  • Extremely small diameter can be used in pipes down to 10mm.
  • Highly robust, resistant to kinking.
  • Available in 20metre and 50metre lengths.
  • Full length or tip only detection capability.
  • Water and gas proof.
  • Uniform diameter to allow easy use with any proprietary insertion gland.

Flexible Tracer

The Flexible Tracer is highly effective at locating and tracing the route of small diameter, non-metallic ducts, pipes, sewers and drains.

When used with any C.Scope Cable Locator and Signal Generator, both the route of a non-metallic pipe and a particular end point can be pinpointed with the Flexible Tracer. This is particularly useful for identifying the position of any blockages or obstructions within the pipe. If a depth measuring Locator is being used then it is also possible to know the depth of the pipe/blockage.

The Flexible Tracer is lightweight and compact making it very easy to transport. It comprises a 6mm diameter, 80m long continuous fibreglass rod housed in a strong reel that rotates on an axle. The axle has a slip-ring allowing the Signal Generator to remain connected to the Connection Terminals of the Flexible Tracer whilst it is being inserted into the pipe to be traced. A tiny Sonde is built into the tip of the Flexible Tracer allowing the end point of the Tracer to also be located. Uniquely, this Sonde is also flexible allowing the Flexible Tracer to negotiate bends in a pipe that would ordinarily stop a conventional Sonde from getting past.

There are two main methods for tracing the route of non-metallic pipes using the Flexible Tracer:

Line Location – Feed the rod into the pipe/duct and attach one Direct Connection lead of a Signal Generator to one connection terminal of the Tracer and the other Direct Connection lead to an Earth Stake. The Rod can then be located thus identifying the route of the pipe.

Tip/Sonde Location – Feed the rod into the pipe/duct and attach one Direct Connection lead of a Signal Generator to one connection terminal of the Tracer and the other Direct Connection lead to the other terminal. This energizes the Sonde at the tip of the Flexible Tracer allowing the end point and the depth of the Flexible Tracer to be identified.
